Plush appearance is not performance proof

A soft-looking image does not confirm fibre content, pile retention, abrasion result, shedding level, wash behavior or suitability for upholstery, toys, apparel or another regulated use.

Screen shade and perceived luster vary with pile direction and lighting. A later physical standard and project-specific acceptance method should control the approved appearance.

Questions before the brief

Can the same chenille yarn serve hand knitting and upholstery?

The applications create different construction, processing and performance questions. One reference should not be assumed suitable for both without route-specific review and, where needed, testing.

How do I describe softness or plushness?

Use a physical sample when possible and state the end use, pile direction, density, count and priority. Descriptive words help begin the review but do not replace an approved reference.

Can shedding or abrasion be guaranteed from a website brief?

No. State the concern and required method. Any later performance claim must be supported by the applicable sample, specification and current test record for that route.
